The John Foster Dulles Oral History Collection

Published by Scholarly Resources, Inc.

The John Foster Dulles Oral History Collection, containing over 250 interviews with individuals who knew Dulles and took part in the major transactions of his day, will give researchers a detailed, accurate view of the man himself and unparalleled insight into the government's ultimate actions.

Included in this collection are interviews with:

top officials of the Eisenhower administration

heads of state, foreign ministers

U.S. and foreign diplomats

members of the Dulles family and their close friends

Dulles's associates from the Versailles Peace Conference, on Wall Street, the Federal Council of Churches, the United Nations, and Congress

members of the press

Dulles's secretaries, staff assistants, classmates, and companions

The interviews touch on myriad topics, such as State Department interaction with U.S. presidents, the United Nations, McCarthyism, the Arab-Israeli dispute, the use of nuclear force, and intervention in Vietnam.

The printed guide accompanying the microfilm contains a detailed listing of interviewees, giving birth and death dates, professions, main topics covered by each interview, length and date of each interview, and any restrictions on use. The guide also includes an index to people and subjects discussed within the interviews.
