Based on A List of Broadsides and Satires, Prose, Poetical, Political, Religious, with Verses of Bellman, etc., Illustrative of English History and Social Life, the Property of the Marquess of Bute, K.T., this collection makes available many unique ephemera illustrating political and social aspects of 17th-century England including:
- Annual Verses of the London Bellmen
- Commerce
- Early Medicine
- Natural Phenomena (including earthquake, eclipse, tidal wave)
- Printing
- Reports of Explorations and New Discoveries in Science and Medicine
- Royal Proclamations
Arranged in chronological order by the Marquess, this material offers a vivid look at 17th-century daily life and contains a number of pieces not recorded elsewhere.
