This material represents the foreign missionary concerns of the Missionary Society and its successor, the Board of Foreign Missions. Primarily outgoing correspondence from the Mission Society staff, these files contain corres- pondence with missionaries and mat- erial relating to routine business. Topics include applicants (or re-enforcements), gifts, wills, estates, annuities, sending missionaries, and answers to regular reports and correspondence.

This collection consists of letter press books, each dealing with a specific topic. The names of staff members appear on the volume if their letters are filed in the book. Each book usually begins with an index detailing to whom the letters were written.
