From the holdings of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Manuscripts, Archives and Rare Books Division: The New York Public Library, Astor, Lenox and Tilden Foundations.

This collection, assembled by former Haiti ambassador Eugene Maximilien, provides a wealth of primary source material on diplomatic incidents and officials. The records are arranged in two series: the Chronological File, which deals with individual diplomats and governmental figures. Most of the material is in French, but considerable portions are in English and, to a lesser extent, in Spanish.
