In many ways Latin America has a very different situation to that which existed long ago and also shows a better performance of macroeconomic indicators, after severe bouts of instability and financial crises experienced in many countries. However, the regional landscape continue to reign, even with more severe forms than before structural heterogeneity and social exclusion of which are derived from the extent of poverty, the squandering of human and natural resources, the high concentration of income and wealth, accompanied by corruption, legal uncertainty and the weakness of nation-states against the power of large corporations. Therefore, equitable development aspirations of becoming a star in the regional debate, when the economic model seems to be reaching its limits. This book is a reference of the Latin American theory of development and aims to contribute to the debate on ways to rebuild a proposal from the face structural obstacles to development in Latin America.
