The ceramic style of Chupícuaro began to set a very important stage in Mesoamerica as its vessel creation became the most important economical activity of the region. The cult of ancestors gave as a result the celebration of burials with very sophisticated offerings. Features and generalities of the Chupícuaro style are analyzed and detailed.

El pueblo Chupicuaro, desde su formacion por migraciones de tribus provenientes del norte de Mexico, hasta su consolidacion en una compleja sociedad estratificada en linajes, mantuvo relaciones guerreras, mercantiles, sociales y politicas con otras culturas mesoamericanas. Chupicuaro tambien es el nombre del estilo ceramico desarrollado por dicho pueblo durante los siglos VI y VII a. C.
