Accidents in Mexico are a major public health problem, besides showing a significant family involvement, social and economic. The economic impact that they represent is 1 to 2 percent of the product GDP and mortality is three times higher in men than in women. Most trauma deaths recorded between the first year of age and 44 corresponding to the productive stage of human beings. The increased violence and accidents in the home, school and work contribute greatly to the establishment of priorities in trauma treatment have a greater effect. The economic consequences of injuries caused by accidents including the costs of prolonged medical care and loss of those who contribute to family income and disability income as well as causing poverty in low-and middle-income, such as Mexico. The Mexican Academy of Surgery, aware of this situation and this work offers the experience of renowned experts in various disciplines related to the topic, which provide the same methods diagnosis and treatment more topical.
