Bugs

  • Centidpede

  • Author Karen D. Povey
  • Published by KidHaven Press

Sliding through the soil or in between rock crevices, the secretive centipede is one of the fiercest predators in the bug world. Through the fancy footwork of its many legs, a centipede can pursue and catch prey almost as large as itself! Special fang-like claws pump potent venom into the centipede's hapless victim, killing it quickly. Although mostly hidden from human view, centipedes live a private, but fascinating life in forests, deserts, and backyards around the world.
