"Gale Directory Library is a new database of Gale's print reference directories, notably Encyclopedia of Associations (including regional/state/local, international, and US editions; see online database review for Associations Unlimited, CH, Oct'06, 44-0653); Gale Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media, and Ward's Business Directory of U.S. Private and Public Companies...Later in 2008 up to 40 titles will be added to the 12 available as of this writing. Libraries may purchase only the directories they do not already have and own them just like print versions...Search results display the basic citation in a clean, uncluttered screen familiar to users of Gale Virtual Reference Library (CH, Dec'05, 43-1903). The full text includes hot links to Web sites (where available) and a formatted citation that can be copied and pasted into documents. One handy feature is downloading results in CSV (comma-separated value) format to manipulate in spreadsheet or database programs. Gale has created an interesting research tool here, and the ability to customize holdings is a plus. Summing Up: Recommended. All libraries; all levels."
