America is experiencing a religious revival and a huge growth in the exploration and practice of alternative religions. The American Religions Collection, one of the largest collections of materials on alternative religious movements and practices in the world, offers thousands of hard-to-find serials relating to 20th century non-traditional religions and splinter groups of larger religious bodies in North America. The collection was built by J. Gordon Melton, the foremost scholar of non-traditional American religions in America, who donated it to the University of California, Santa Barbara.
