This volume consists of a retitled paperback edition of Campbell’s Disasters, Accidents and Crises in American History: A Reference Guide to the Nation's Most Catastrophic Events (Facts on File, 2008). For a full review, see: Lawrence Looks at Books, April 2008. There are no changes to the text or content and this trade edition aims at marketing the guide to American calamities to a wider market. Libraries may want to purchase this inexpensively priced version of a useful reference tool. On the other hand, the extra $70 for the hardback edition is a modest investment for protecting a volume that is likely to see heavy use in both circulating and reference collections.
