Homosexuality. By Robert Winters. Detroit, Mich.: Greenhaven Press Thomson Gale, 2007. 1 vol. 166 p. $36.20. ISBN 10: 0-7377-2793-4; 13: 978-0-7377-2793-7.

HomosexualityHomosexuality is not an easy topic to discuss in a high school and this will not an easy book to place in the school library. However, the approach here is to offer information in terms of U.S. court cases with no specific discussion of right and wrong from any other point of view. Chapter 1, "States Can Outlaw Sodomy," discusses Bowers v. Hardwick (1986). Romer v. Evans (1996) in Chapter 2 covers "Gay People May Not Be Singled Out for Discrimination". "Sodomy Laws Are Unconstitutional" discusses Lawrence v. Texas (2003) in Chapter 3 while Chapter 4 presents Goodridge vs. Department of Public Health (2003). Appendixes include "Organizations to Contact" and a brief bibliography.
