Tupac Shakur. By Michael V. Uschan. Detroit, Mich.: Lucent Books Thomson Gale, 2007. 1 vol. 104 p. $32.45. ISBN 10: 1-59018-987-6; 13: 978-1-59018-987-0.

Tupac ShakurTupac Shakur held many roles, including rapper, movie actor, super star and wealthy man. Inset boxes add additional information and color photographs document the life of this enigma. The final chapter poses the question, "Should Tupac Shakur be a Role Model?" Perhaps this is the point of the book, and asking students to answer this question might be one of the most creative thinking exercises they could undergo. The appendix includes "Important Dates" in his life.
