Technology and Society. Edited by David Haugen and Susan Musser. Detroit, Mich.: Greenhaven Press Thomson Gale, 2007. 225 p. $34.95. ISBN 978-0-7377-3360-0.

Technology and Society On a recent broadcast of "60 Minutes," the audience was introduced to those technical experts who can help "fix" your technical problems especially those of us who are confused by the television control. Students who wonder about impact can find out in Chapter 1, "What Is Technology’s Impact on Society?" Two sides of the debates here are "The Internet Connects People" and "The Internet Isolates People," or "Robots Are Replacing People" and "Robots Are Not Replacing People." The remaining chapters cover "What Impact Does Technology Have on Education?" "Should the Government Regulate Technology?" and "Will Future Technology Improve Humanity?" This may not be the hottest topic to debate, but it is certainly one that is changing as fast as technology changes.
