Reproductive Technologies. Edited by Clay Farris Naff. Detroit, Mich.: Greenhaven Press Thomson Gale, 2007. 235 p. $34.95. ISBN 10: 0-7377-3331-4; ISBN 13: 978-0-7377-3331-0.

Reproductive Technologies Probably no topic is hotter than any discussion of reproduction under any guise. Reproductive technologies started in the 1800s with artificial insemination and the present-day issues of test-tube babies, surrogate mothering and cloning are front and center today. The religious and ethical objections and those that will surface in the future are fodder for debate. Questions posed include "How Do Reproductive Technologies Impact Society?", "What Ethical Issues Arise in Reproductive Technologies?", "Should Limits Be Placed on Current Reproductive Technologies?" and "Should New Reproductive Technologies Be Pursued?" As countries move forward to choose how to handle sex selection in births, this and the other issues presented here will continue to be debated. Students can use this as a launching point to further study these technologies.
