About KidHaven

In Fall 2001, Greenhaven Press will offer a new line of quality, nonfiction books for younger readers. KidHaven Press debuts with eight series aimed at students in grades 3 and 5. The first series will cover a wide range of topics from history, science, and current issues. For example, Eyes on the Sky, examines the planets and other astronomical features of our solar system. Seeds of a Nation, explores the origins of America's states and introduces the important people and events that played a part in their formation. The Daily Life series presents young readers with a vivid picture of the way people lived in selected times and places in history. Nature's Predators examines the fascinating world of predatory animals including the characteristics that make them efficient hunters and the hunting techniques they rely on for survival.

All series strive to present important information through the use of vivid imagery - both in the writing and in the picture selection. Many exciting, new series are planned for the future.

KidHaven Press was purchased by Thomson Gale in November 2000, along with sister companies Greenhaven Press and Lucent Books. KidHaven will follow the tradition set by Greenhaven and Lucent in producing high-quality nonfiction for the upper elementary grades.
