Finding information within U·X·L Online is fast and easy by using the Gale Virtual Reference Library's search functionality. U·X·L Online is available 24/7 from any Internet connected computer. No special reader or software is necessary.
Using Basic Search, researchers can quickly retrieve documents by searching on the Document Title, by Keyword or by Full Text. Keyword Search is the default option, and searches on significant fields in documents, including title, author and any introductory text. The Document Title option searches through title and headlines of articles. Selecting Full Text searches for any word(s) within the entire text of all documents as well as the fields included in the Keyword Search.
For researchers that require Advanced Search options, Gale Virtual Reference Library supports searches that combine criteria by:
- Document Title
- Image Caption
- Full Text
- Publication Title
- Author of Document
- Start Page
- Document Number
- Previous Searches
Advanced Search also allows users to limit their search by publication date, publication title, subject area and audience type, as well as to documents with images.
Results are delivered at the article level (not a page at a time) in an HTML-based text and graphics format designed for speedy display and easy readability. With single-click ease, articles can be printed, e-mailed or displayed as PDF page layouts. Search terms are highlighted so users can find relevant information within articles quickly.
