Search 1:
After searching through some childhood things on a Saturday afternoon, an elderly patron brings in a Gordie Howe rookie hockey card, and wishes to know if it is worth any value.
Solution:
- Enter "gordie howe" rookie card
- Check the boxes for "sold items"
- Check the box "only display items with images"
- Click on the Search button
- You receive items ranging in various prices
You see on the first result screen a similar card only it is in a display plaque. You also notice the name of the card and the picture of it is the same as the patrons — they also both say "#66"
- Type in #66 at the end of your search string in the narrow search box
- Click on the "narrow search" button
You notice now that some of the items are sets

Add "— sets" to the entry
- Click "narrow search" again
Search 2:
Another patron asks about a bronze Salvadore Dali statue that they think is an original art work.
Solution:
- Enter Salvadore Dali without quotes
- Check the box for "sold items"
- Check the box "only display items with images"
- Click the Search button
Add the words bronze and original
- Re-execute the search
Search 3:
A third request was for a walnut Seth Thomas calendar clock.
Solution:
- Enter the search term "Seth Thomas."
- Check the boxes for "sold items"
- Check the box "only display items with images"
You would like to narrow your search results.
- Add walnut calendar to the search box
- You will now receive a more narrow range of results
Search 4:
A fourth request was for a Roseville Sunflower pot, which the patron referred to as a "jardinière," although they were not sure on the spelling.
Solution:
- Enter the search phrase Roseville Sunflower
- Check the boxes for "sold items"
- Check the box "only display items with images"
- Click on the Search button
Next, modify the entry
- Enter a space — (minus sign) space
- Then type in vase (this will take out any vases)
- Then, leave a space and type in jardiniere
- Click on the search button
